We are currently testing shipments to USA on a small scale before we open them up to everyone again. Please stay tuned!

Thank you for your interest in having K-Retro Gaming perform repair and/or modification services on your console. These are the terms and conditions that apply to the work we do. Please read them carefully before sending your console to us.

Service

The modding and/or repair services offered in our shop cover labour and return shipping costs for working on your console. Any materials—such as capacitor kits, replacement screens, and other parts—must either be provided by you or purchased in our shop at the same time as the service.

If you provide your own parts, we will inspect them to ensure they are of adequate quality before using them. We may refuse to install certain parts if they don't meet our quality standards. For example, Chinese capacitors will not be installed.

If, upon opening your console or during the service, we identify that additional work is required, you will be informed, and any additional payment and material costs will be discussed with you before work continues.

We will keep in contact with you throughout the service. For more complex or custom modifications, you will receive in-progress updates. Typically, we will send you photos of the work once it is complete.

Postage

It is your responsibility to securely package your console in bubble wrap and place it in a sturdy boxDo not send your console in any form of envelope. We are not responsible for damage incurred during transit and will inspect your console upon arrival to ensure it has arrived safely and not damaged. Please advise us of any existing damage to your console like cracks, scratches, etc.

Postage costs for sending the console to us are your responsibility. Once packaged, please send your console to:

Return postage and insurance are included in the service price when you check out and pay through our shop.

What to Send

Please double check with us what you should include with your console. We typically require a game to be included with your console for testing purposes. Sometimes we will ask that you include a power supply. For consoles that are not handhelds, a controller and any A/V cables should also be included.

Previous Mods

Unless previously agreed upon, we will not interfere with or remove existing modifications on your console. If an existing mod interferes with the modifications or repairs we are carrying out, you will be informed before we proceed.

We will not address any existing damage or blemishes caused by previous modifications unless agreed upon in advance.

Turn-Around Time

Typical turnaround time is two weeks, but this can vary depending on your location, the nature of the required modifications or repairs, and any unexpected issues that arise upon inspection.

We will inform you if your service is expected to take longer than usual.

Multiple Consoles

You may send multiple consoles at the same time. Please be aware this will affect turnaround times and total payment required.

Testing of Consoles

We test each console before beginning any work. Unless previously agreed upon, we do not modify faulty consoles. If we discover your console is faulty upon arrival, you will be notified and offered the following options:

  • A refund (minus return postage costs), or
  • An investigation and repair of the fault at an additional service cost.

Your console will be tested again after all work is completed. Any issues found at this stage will be addressed before it is shipped back to you.

Payment

For standard services, simply add them to your cart in our shop, include any required kits or replacement parts, and check out using one of the available payment methods.

If your service requires customisation, please contact us first. We will generate a quote/invoice, including any required components, and send it via PayPal.

For custom services, our payment structure is as follows:

  • 20% deposit: Required to reserve parts while we wait for your console to arrive.

  • 30% payment: Required once your console has been tested and work is ready to begin (bringing the total paid to 50%).

  • Remaining balance: Due upon completion of work, prior to your console being shipped back.

You may also choose to pay the full invoice amount upfront.
