Rechargeable Battery NiMh Charge Kit for Atari Lynx
With the NiMh charge kit, you can charge NiMh AA batteries directly inside your Atari Lynx. This includes Eneloop batteries as well as cheap Varta NiMh rechargeable batteries. The batteries charge when a power adapter is plugged into the Lynx's power socket.
You can also play and charge batteries at the same time. With this mod, you will never have to remove your NiMh cells from your Lynx, just charge them when you're done playing or as you play.
The charge module has over voltage, over current, short circuit protection, 10hr safety timer, and an intelligent charge controller IC manufactured by Texas Instruments. LED charge indicators (see photo below).
This mod will not restrict your console like lithium mods can. It'll work just as fine on a regular set of AA's as well as NiMh cells.
Warning: Once this mod is installed, you MUST always have batteries in your Lynx for it to turn on properly. If you have non-rechargeable batteries installed, DO NOT use the power adapter at the same time. Please apply the included warning sticker to any Lynx that you fit this module to.
Note: If you have a McWill LCD kit installed, it will not be possible to charge batteries while playing.
The LED indicators on the boards are not all the same between different batches of boards, however the position of the charge and fault LEDs is always the same. The fault LED is the outside LED, closest to the edge of the PCB. The inside LED is the indicator for when batteries are charging.

GAME CHANGER
Lynx, like Game Gear, was notorious for eating through AA batteries. Pair the BennVenn IPS kit with this NiMH kit and you've got yourself a stew! Throw 6x NiMH AA batteries in the Lynx and get literal HOURS of play time on a single charge. Plug in the Lynx and charge your batteries while playing, too! The kit requires a little bit of soldering and (recommended) drilling, but the connections are pretty easy and the included lens makes the whole thing look stock! Another highly recommended upgrade to your Lynx console!
